Since only a small number of provincial households own refrigerators, which they have no refrigeration use of fresh ingredients, savory or very small. The food is not served in separate courses, as Filipinos prefer all food to be established before them so they can eat all the dishes at once. Tourists are advised to always take into account respect for the Filipinos have to eat.
While the Philippines has a lot of fresh seafood and a variety with juicy tropical fruit, the daily food of ordinary people tends to be boring. Apart from some exceptions, such as Bicol and the Muslim areas in the south, the seasoning is not spicy. Native cooks, however, invented some delicious recipes with ingredients like coconut milk, jackfruits, garlic and ginger. A range of sweets is made of glutinous rice, while halo-halo is a dessert based common with layers of fruit sugar, gelatin, cream, and crushed ice.
