What is the best way to get Egypt and Israel (Holy Land) with a budget?

Im planning a trip next summer in Egypt and the Holy Land (Israel, Petra, etc) with some of my friends .. This will be a first for any of us, so we really do not know how to move anywhere … Were not really big on tour groups, and having to adhere to rigid schedules (and do not really want to pay the extra money to do so if we can help). We the hope of most of the money is in the air just sinked, and travel … So is there any suggestions on fair deals and get around Egypt and the holy lands, and seeing all the archaeological sites and markets on a budget? and how much money you think you should plan in action (or so)? There is no better place on earth to visit, but I'm not sure what you could do with $ 2 kA month. I guess I would like to live in Jerusalem. People are Tel Aviv recommending … I personally do not agree with that, but it depends what you after. Tel Aviv is a great city from a secular viewpoint, but they sent will inspire there. Israel is very expensive, but you could probably rent a room for a short time and still have money to play with. No matter what just choose from, there you go. You will not regret. Nesia Tova!
