Where does the saga of Tiger Woods be? What will the PGA Tour next season?

Amanda Blumenherst

Let me suggest that 2010 would be the perfect year to start following the LPGA Tour.

I know, the LPGA has been itself struggling lately. He has lost more than a few tournaments on its calendar in the last couple of seasons, and the scarcity of the winners of America in 2009 has made difficult for some fans to stay interested in women's professional game here in the U.S. But brighter times are ahead of the LPGA and predict some interesting performances in 2010 of a group of new young players who love to go out week after week.

I had the opportunity to attend the LPGA Q School earlier this month in Daytona Beach (including caddy for one of the players) and can tell you that Amanda Blumenherst is definitely one that deserves a new rookie. Blumenherst won the event five days of Q-school sound with a 9 under par performance. She is "real offer" and I be surprised if she wins on the LPGA Tour next year.

Blumenherst has done what many of today's LPGA stars have not. He spent four full years in college, graduating with honors from Duke, where he was an All-American and three-time NCAA Player of the Year. She also Women's Amateur champion last U.S.. Watching her play and manage themselves to reporters after the victory of Q School was obvious that she has the mental maturity to go along with the physical talent necessary to compete at the highest level in women's professional golf. The Scottsdale, Ariz., native was also nice and friendly as a person who is on a golf course. The spectators in the events and television viewers will thoroughly enjoy watching her play.

American golf fans should prepare for some exciting and difficult battles in 2010 between Blumenherst and Michelle Wie. With their first victory of the LPGA this fall, Wie has finally "arrived in his own" as a professional golfer and most likely be at or near the top of the classification many LPGA events next season. Wie victory came too soon for the tour, which is hoping to capitalize on its popularity among golfers. A Blumenherst Wie and rivalry would be great for the LPGA. Wie is already a household name, while Blumenherst is well known to golf after the woman, but could have on the superstar status and become another household name if you play to their capabilities.

There several other young people who leave Q and Duramed Futures Tour School, which could also make their marks on the LPGA in 2010. In fact, the talent level on tour has probably never been greater. Some other rookies LPGA to keep the eye in 2010: Mina Harigae of Monterey, California, Jean Reynolds of Newnan, Georgia, and Misun Cho of South Korea. They won their LPGA cards at the end in the top three on the money list on the Futures Tour season, with each notching multiple wins in 2009. Reynolds entered the national spotlight last summer when contending for victory at the U.S. Women's Open.

Among the other new rookies who earned their LPGA cards at Q School this month and could face in 2010 are:

Mariajo Uribe, Colombia
Marianne Skarpnord, Norway,
Maria Hernandez, Spain
Gwladys Nocera, France,
Lucy Kim, South Korea
Pernilla Lindberg, Sweden,
Recari Beatriz, Spain
Lisa Meldrum, Canada
Azahara Munoz, Spain

Upcoming LPGA Commissioner Michael Whan has done work for him when he tries to restore the events that have been lost in recent years and build schedule tour for seasons to come. The LPGA is definitely not in the driver's seat in its current relationships with sponsors and organizers of the event. The number of incidents has decreased from 32 in 2008 to a projected 24 in 2010. The tour will be as favorable as can be when it comes to stock sizes and programming. It will also have to do everything possible to build your fan base.

The LPGA has a new contract by 10 years of television with the Golf Channel beginning next year. Expanding the coverage of their events will be easier for fans to follow players and see the action. Judging by the number of new players with talent that will be teeing each in his rookie season, fans will have many reasons to start to attend LPGA events and follow the route on television.
