Is there something to do in Yellowstone in winter?

I'll be passing through January 3 and he got all day. Is there something to do or do? I know the bears are asleep, but his staff holiday park bison Tourism geyser or report or something?

Buses can be running, and you can cross country ski and if you go to West Yellowstone, MT can rent snowmobiles and horses for the winter. The eastern entrance is closed and perhaps the southeast entrance. Both entries are open and MT south entrance of the Tetons, but the roads are bad in the south entrance and in the case of a heavy snowfall, which is more likely, given the date, the roads may be closed for days. The northern entrance to Gardiner's where a lot of visitors enjoy Mammoth Hot Springs are open. Getting through Yellowstone, including the northern entrance to the west gate despite a challenge that can be open during the winter. Some of the best ski slopes U.S. has to offer is just an hour away from Yellowstone West entrance in Big Sky, MT where there are literally hundreds of miles of trails. Both downhill and cross country. Moose, elk, buffalo and all move in the snow and so you should be able to see many of them. Some wolves and coyotes are going to be running around too, the Bears should all be located in good time although it will probably not see it unless it is exceptionally warm.

Yellowstone

$11.07

This video offers a visual portrait of a land spectacular enough to win protection as America’s first national park at a time when few gave much thought to conservation. Included on the tape are visits to landmarks like Mammoth Hot Springs and Old Faithful. The park is looked at in two separate seasons to contrast and compare the beauty that is offered by the clothing of winter and spring. Like other videos from Reader’s Digest, the content and tone of this video are appropriate for family viewing. ~ Rob Ferrier, Rovi
